Il moderno percorso è stato classificato tra i migliori 10 campi nell' Europa continentale e fin dal 1987 e per tutti gli anni successivi è stato conferito al Club l'ambito riconoscimento con cui vengono premiati i migliori campi d'Italia sino a raggiungere nel 2003 la qualifica di miglior campo.    Ha ospitato per due volte l'Open d'Italia (1991 e 1998) e il record sul percorso\, 66 colpi\, è detenuto da Josè Maria Olazabal e Costantino Rocca.
